I will return to Polish classes in January, and then I will see how I feel about it all. Meanwhile, memorizing Ancient Greek is so much easier than memorizing Polish, I have to laugh.Mrs McLeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18095035617334068201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3524471174570445036.post-51871692854847176562016-12-14T23:08:14.973+00:002016-12-14T23:08:14.973+00:00Oh yes. I read about it in the "Guardian"...Oh yes. I read about it in the "Guardian". Apparently British Poles watch it and are in floods of tears, conveniently forgetting that Poland is a 2.5 hour flight away. Polish men in the UK rarely make babies with non-Poles here (it's Polish women who marry out), and so British Polish babies probably all understand "Jestem twoim dziadekiem" as well as an English baby understands "I am your grandpa."

That said, I enjoyed his conversations with dog and duckie. If I covered every surface with sticky notes, B.A. would have Something to Say. Besides, I'd have to write the declination endings too--URGH!

My struggles with Polish are more like: "I need to speak to a priest who speaks English now. I don't want to talk to Father Rector. I want to speak to a priest who speaks English." Also, "I was disappointed, Father, to find so much anti-Jewish literature for sale outside the church during Mass." And finally, "Perhaps I have this eye infection because the sprzÄ…taczka couldn't be bothered cleaning my room."Mrs McLeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18095035617334068201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3524471174570445036.post-82539031813761957152016-12-14T19:54:52.309+00:002016-12-14T19:54:52.309+00:00This is off-point, but check out https://youtu.be/...This is off-point, but check out https://youtu.be/tU5Rnd-HM6A It reminded me of you and your struggle to learn Polish.

--AuroraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
