"Nothing Good Happens Past 10 o'clock"

And other pearls of wisdom in "21 Lost Lady Traditions That Still Apply Today". A Facebook friend linked to it, and I was so entranced by the Duchess of Cambridge's amazing up-do that I had to click.

Actually, a lot good can happen after ten o'clock. Pillow! Blankie! Zzzzz!

  1. I am so in love with the way that the Duchess of Cambridge dresses and does her hair. She manages to be so feminine and classy in modern styles. *Sigh*. And she has the most adorable children.

Also, I’ve decided recently that two groups of people ought be banned from using the words ‘ladies’ and ‘gentlemen’ (except in reference to bathrooms)-anyone attending a four-year Catholic liberal arts college, and men in com-boxes.

Very young and enthusiastic men who use the words to plump themselves on their door-opening abilities and try to convince young women of their acquaintance that they shouldn’t wear pants really need to be protected from themselves until they have a chance to gain a little more worldly wisdom.
And why don’t men in com-boxes realize how unattractive it is to call themselves gentlemen while bewailing the lack of true ‘ladies’? Seriously!! Gah!

But it was a lovely post.

And I totally agree with you about after ten o'clock! One of my favorite times of the day. :)

  2. Yes, comboxes are fraught with that sort of thing. And, yes, that sort of young man most definitely lacks worldly wisdom. If only they knew that "there are no ladies around" is the exact equivalent of "all men are pigs." Sigh.

  3. About the Duchess of Cambridge, whereas I do not doubt she has good taste, it occurs to me that as the de facto British Ambassador to the Universe, there must be a team of people all working to make her represent the Crown as beautifully as possible, and therefore all Britain (or all England, anyway) can be proud that we can dress a woman as well as anyway (e.g. the French).

  4. This blog carries interest in the Duchess of Cambridge to an almost creepy level, but it does seem to be useful for looking at her clothes. Incidentally, I've read the D of C loathes being called Kate; her husband refers to her in public as Catherine.

  5. Whoops, forgot to add the post. Well, here's a link to another "Kate Blog" I found. Golly. Thank the heavens nobody is interested in what I wear. http://whatkatewore.com/
